Archdiocesan Child and Youth Protection Policy
Requirements for Volunteers
STAND Training
If you will be volunteering with children
or youth at a parish or school in the Archdiocese
of Baltimore, you must complete the Archdiocese
of Baltimore Application for Volunteer Service,
receive and review a copy of A Statement
of Policy for the Protection of Children & Youth and receive
and review the Code of Conduct for Church Personnel in
the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
Particular Covered Entities may have additional
requirements for volunteers to complete before they are able to begin
serving. If a volunteer will have substantial contact with children,
then the following must be completed before s/he begins to serve in
the Archdiocese of Baltimore:
a. application for Volunteer Service completed
b. names of references provided and checked
c. volunteer Select Criminal History Screening
completed
and receive training regarding child abuse
and protection of children, including STAND

The Archdiocese of Baltimore’s safe environment (STAND) training
is available online. The course takes less
than two hours to complete. Upon successful
completion, you will be able to print a certificate
of completion. To attend STAND training online

unable to complete the training online, there
are a limited number of on-site trainings
available.
